Studio Spatial Poetry is a space where architectural perception meets design intuition.
As a design studio, we practises across architecture, installations and spatial narratives. Each project explores the connection between space and experience. People are integral to the design, shaping environments that resonate with their emotions. Our focus on spatial psychology and cultural heritage enriches these interactions, fostering a dialogue that transcends boundaries. We are drawn to the flow of time, crafting designs that unfold narratives and weave their stories into the fabric of existence.
Founded in London by ARB RIBA registered architect Krystal Tsai, the studio works internationally across scales and disciplines, blending research and experimentation to create atmospheric environments.
Every project begins with a simple chat.
We’re always here to listen.

Krystal was awarded the UCL BSBG Adaptive Technology Prize and serves as a juror for the 2024 BCA Student Award in Singapore. Her longstanding interest in institutional and childhood learning environments has drawn her into the international Reggio Emilia discourse, where she continues to refine an approach to design rooted in curiosity, creativity, and the emotional intelligence of place.
Before establishing Studio Spatial Poetry, she contributed to a range of significant works in the UK and abroad—spanning Amsterdam, Italy, and Singapore. These include the adaptive reuse of Bermondsey’s historic Biscuit Factory into a mixed-use constellation of co-working spaces and dwellings; revitalisation strategies for Covent Garden, Soho, and Chinatown; and the 2045 Campus Vision for the University of Birmingham. This breadth of experience has helped shape her attunement to context, heritage, and the evolving life of cities.
Krystal’s work is guided by a desire to create spaces that resonate emotionally, answer to their context, and foster meaningful engagement across all scales of inhabitation. Beyond practice, she is also a competitive badminton player.
