Singapore, in its Time
A seven-metre mural created for Singapore Tourism Board 60th Gala as another kind of step and repeat wall.
This 7-metre canvas is a distilled symphony of Singapore, where past and present entwine like roots and branches in an ancient forest. Without beginning or end, a timeless montage unfolds: Kampong Glam and Chinatown meet the mirrored shimmer of Marina Bay Sands and the botanical wonder of Gardens by the Bay. Together, they form a mosaic that celebrates a nation rising from humble shores to the world stage.
Colour moves through the work like Singapore’s own pulse—verdant greens, deep florals, tropical foliage—expressing the city’s enduring kinship with nature. This biophilia is not decoration but lifeblood, threading through skyline and street, honouring both tradition and modernity. Commissioned by the Singapore Tourism Board for its 60th anniversary, the artwork stands as a tribute to place and people—Singapore, in its time.
